Chanel's Cruise 2015 presentation is gearing up to set Seoul alight with a Karl carnival tonight, as Karl's band of beauties begin to arrive for the hotly anticipated show. Going to head to head with the Met Gala, which takes place on the same night across the globe in New York, which invitation have the stars RSVP-ed to?...

Karl Lagerfeld is raising the hype for the fashionable May 4. Not only is the Met Gala taking place in New York (to which Lagerfeld has been invited) but the Chanel Cruise 2015 collection is being presented in Seoul, South Korea. Whilst details are cloaked in secrecy, we know to expect a classically Karl, large scale production at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, right in the centre of Seoul, tonight.

Seoul has a rich cultural archive to draw from and we imagine ancient spiritual elements and traditions will be spliced with the thriving K-Pop culture to create an immersive and aesthetically powerful presentation, loaded with cool cultural references. The modernity that is central to the Cruise collection concept is the perfect match for this diverse city. Karl's band of beauties are likely to include Binx Wilton, Natalie Westling and Nadja Bender to name a few.

Insiders have revealed that Tilda Swinton, Tim Banks, and Kristen Stewart are among those who have been lured away from the almighty draw of the Met Gala, in favour of attending the Chanel show.  However, whether or not Karl, who is currently in South Korea, will high tail it to New York himself to show his face at the Met Gala remains to be seen. Stay tuned to Buro 24/7 Middle East for the details as they happen...
