Chanel's next Métiers d’art will take place in Austria
Fashion's finest in Salzberg this December
A brand concept constantly on the move, Chanel's Métiers d'art is set to next take place at Schloss Leopoldskron, just south of Salzburg. Situated on a lake, the 18th-century Rococo palace is considered one of the finest in Austria – an considered a hub for artistic and intellectual society over the centuries. The label is already known for its fondness of cool, cold-weather locations.
Established in 2002 and in fact sparking pre-collection as a valid season, the Métiers d'art collection showcases specialty ateliers that Chanel controls through its Paraffection subsidiary.
These include names such as jeweller Desrues, feather maker Lemarié, embroiderers Maison Lesage and Atelier Montex, shoemaker Massaro, milliner Michel and cashmere producer Barrie. In recent years Chanel travelled to Dallas and Edinburgh – both intrinsically linked to the fashion house's identity through the past.
