Chanel Iman just got married in a gown made by a Middle Eastern designer

The model opted for not one, but two dresses
Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard officially got married earlier this week and whilst the wedding was dreamy, it was the dress that got our attention...

Whilst Britain prepares for the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19, the other side of the world already celebrated the wedding of American model Chanel Iman and football player Sterling Shepard.

The newlyweds tied the knot at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles and the guest list included A-listers Chrissy Teigen, Gabrielle Union, Odell Beckham Jr., Shanina Shaik and Joan Smalls, whilst model Jourdan Dunn took on the role of bridesmaid for the evening.

The whole celebratory event was a star-studded affair but it was the model’s wedding ensembles that were picture-perfect.

The model (who has previously visited Dubai to celebrate Mall of the Emirates’ 10th anniversary) turned to Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad for her fairytale dress and it came from the brand’s Fall ’18 bridal collection.

Sporting the ‘Camila’ dress for the ceremony, the romantic tulle dress came complete with intricate embroidery with 3D floral appliques, a deep V-neckline, a silk tulle bolero and a floor-sweeping A-line silhouette.

Speaking of the dress, Chanel Iman said: “It’s an American dream of a love story. His pieces always fit and complement my body, and his beadwork is exquisite.” She also told Brides magazine that: “I never really envisioned wearing something like that for my wedding, but the moment we put it on, we all loved it. It was so chic and unusual but also felt a little vintage.”

For the reception, the model changed into her second gown of the evening (also crafted by Zuhair Murad) and opted for a more romantic look with the ‘Christie’ dress. Also from the brand’s Fall ’18 bridal collection, the gown was adorned with embellishments and a blush pink bow tied belt.

Congratulations to Chanel and Sterling!
