CFDA launching new online database of New York production facilities
Making local fashion production more accessible
The Council of Fashion Designers of America – via the Fashion Manufacturing Initiative – is adding some extra influence behind local production, hoping that more creatives will start using fashion facilities closer to home.
Part of this new plan is the orginisation's launch of an online database of New York City production facilities, set to go live this week on CFDA.com.
Openly accessible to all site visitors, the innovative list lets designers search for factories in all five boroughs, searches can even be customised via areas such as sewn goods, jewellery facilities, design category, price points and production minimums.
