Rumour: Has Céline hired Maison Martin Margiela's couture designer?
Acclaimed designer Matthieu Blazy has a strong CV. Formerly anonymous as the couture designer behind Maison Martin Margiela's creations, it was this summer that Suzy Menkes revealed his identity. And it looks like we're about to hear – and see – a lot more about the talented 30-year-old.

Céline, like Maison Martin Margiela, keeps to a strict policy when it comes to not communicating the identity of its staff (John Galliano aside, of course), and that includes one of its new recruits, Blazy.

According to sources the designer – who had been responsible for Margiela's stunning couture line this summer, known as 'Artisanal', has joined the studio of Céline creative director Phoebe Philo. Blazy is apparently now working alongside one of Philo's former Chloe associates, Yvan Mispelaere, who has recently had worked in a design directorial capacity with Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Diane von Furstenberg.
