New York Fashion Week: Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 16

Pretty in pink

Dive into Herrera’s pink dream and discover the ultra pretty Spring/Summer 16 collection, unveiled last night at New York Fashion Week…

"Fashion should be optimistic," said Caroline Herrera at her Spring/Summer 16 collection presentation, and optimistic she made it. Dream-like even. A haven of soft prettiness amidst the harsh gruff bustle of the city. "This is my rose period," she continued, and what followed was a flow of pink design, that made us fall for this rosy hue anew.

Candy, pastel, blush and bright, were the main members of the pink family to lift our spirits, and it was all done without so much as a hint of over-sweetening. Black and white propped up the palette on either side but very much in a supporting role only.

The other resounding theme seemed to be transparency, a risky business, but not in the hands of Herrera who handled it with elegance and modesty, and just enough allure. Sheer panels connected heavier fabrics, and elsewhere sheer was layered upon sheer to obscure the view but keep the effect. Discover the collection in full via our gallery below...
