The Cannes Film Festival: 'Saint Laurent' and 'The Prophet' premiere
Stars continue to arrive on the ultra-glamorous red carpet
Yesterday, guests began to appear for one of the most anticipated film premieres at this year's prestigious film festival — the drama by Bertrand Bonello, Saint Laurent. The cast and crew member held hands as they walked towards the main entrance of the Palais des Festivals, for the unveiling of the highly-anticipated film.
In addition to the debut of the second biopic of the French designer, Yves Saint Laurent, another film, The Prophet, was also being watched for the first time. Based on Khalil Gibran's philosophical novel, the animated film was directed by director Roger Allers and co-produced by actress Salma Hayek — who also voices a character alongside the Liam Neeson, John Krasinski, Frank Langella, Alfred Molina and Quvenzhané Wallis.
Hayek, who looked stunning in a hot pink Saint Laurent gown, also broke the festival's non-political tradition by holding up a #BringBackOurGirls sign on the red carpet.
