Burberry is being awarded a 'Walk of Style' accolade as it opens first store on Rodeo Drive
It's an iconic shopping concept that's being replicated in the Middle East very soon, with the original being adapted to and developed over the years. Many luxury lifestyle brands have joined along the way, and the once only-relevant to the 'ladies who lunch' set, Rodeo Drive in LA is now becoming quite the cutting edge brand magnet.
Now, Burberry is set to launch its first store along the famous street, on November 7, which will precede its receiving the 22nd ever Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award, on the 19th. The city of Beverly Hills and the Rodeo Drive Committee announced the news yesterday. The award, inaugurated in 2003, has already been presented to Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Gianni and Donatella Versace, and Mario Testino. Also acknowledged are the houses of Missoni and Ferragamo, costume designer Edith Head, and iconic editor Diana Vreeland, among others.
Burberry, which was founded in 1856, plans to celebrate its Beverly Hills store with a big party next April. With the three-story store, located on the corner of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way already visible to the public.
