Burberry names Lily James as new fragrance ambassador
Burberry has just announced that British actress Lily James is the new face of Burberry fragrances. James, who is best known for her role as Rose Aldridge in Downton Abbey, will now front her first ever global advertising campaign showcasing the newest note by the British, My Burberry Black.
“I am thrilled to be officially joining the Burberry family," said James, who now replaces British models Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss as the face of the fragrance line. "I am so proud to be British, so it really means a lot. Shooting my first campaign was so special – I don’t want to give away too much but I had a lot of fun showing a different side of myself."
The campaign itself was photographed by Mario Testino and directed by Burberry's Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Bailey. Talking about the yet-to-be-revealed campaign, Bailey said: “I’m so delighted to have worked with the very lovely and clever Lily James on our new My Burberry campaign. I have admired her work for quite some time and was bowled over by her wonderful charm and her warmth when we met so it was a treat to have had the opportunity to collaborate on this shoot together."
