British Fashion Council to honour Karl Lagerfeld
A lifetime of beautiful fashion
This year Chanel's Creative Director, Karl Lagerfeld will be presented with the outstanding achievement award at the British Fashion Awards. "Karl Lagerfeld defines outstanding. He is the champion of excellence, the master of the exceptional and one of the most iconic figures globally from our industry," said Natalie Massenet, Chairman of the British Fashion Council. "His life's work for his own and so many extraordinary brands has written the language of fashion. He is the ultimate visionary and we celebrate not only the decades already passed but those yet to happen. In Karl's hands the future of fashion will be an exceptional one."
Karl's exceptional commitment to the fashion industry, which is 50 years in the making and includes time at the helm of Chloé, Fendi, Chanel as well as his own label, means that he now joins the likes of Anna Wintour and Manolo Blahnik in accepting this prestigious award.
"His eye for detail has proved transferable, juggling successful careers as photographer, publisher and art director alongide his numerous design undertakings," say the British Fashion Council are just some of the reasons the designer is being honoured with this years award.
The annual awards will take place at the London Coliseum on November 23, 2015.
