Bridal Spring 2016: Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier and Naeem Khan
Layers of romance
Carolina Herrera brings beauty with a pulse of sensuality to her Spring 2016 collection. “These brides are romantic…but I want them to be seductive,” said the designer of the new bride. The seduction was taken care of with well placed bodices and fishtail silhouettes, which clung to curves. The romance was also evident with plush layered organza skirted gowns and floral embellishments. Herrera also accessorised with her new line of jasmine floral jewellery, which added a modern twist to the romantic illusion.
Monique Lhuillier infused a personal touch to her intimate presentation of her Alice in Wonderland inspired Spring 2016 collection, by narrating each look herself. This season sees Lhuillier breaking the mould by introducing a few gowns in non-ivory hues of peach and green. The princess skirt and trumpet shape gowns are also showing a more sultry edge this season, with low back styles and sheer embellished bodices. This is an exploration of curiosity and fantasy from Alice’s wonderland.
This season marks ten years of business for bridal designer Naeem Khan, whose Spring 2016 exhibits every ounce of luxe nuance we have come to expect. The varied collection sees a stand out sequin tuxedo and a short asymmetric dress break the stream of luscious gowns which has a concentration on rich layering. The collection is named after various covetable locations such as Buenos Aires, Positano and Newport.
