Breaking news: Phoebe Philo exits Céline
WWD reports that the designer is not thought to be going to another fashion house and that her successor will be announced in the coming months.
Philo's last collection for the brand will be A/W19, to be shown in Paris in March next year.
According to WWD, the designer said in a statement: "Working with Céline has been an exceptional experience for me these last 10 years. I am grateful to have worked with an incredibly talented and committed team and I would like to thank everyone along the way who has been part of the collaborations and conversations."
Her resignation comes after 10 years at the helm of the iconic French label. Since being appointed at the LVMH-owned group since 2008, the British designer has transformed (and developed) some of the maison's iconic leather goods — think Clasp, Cabas Phantom and Trapeze — and was also at the helm when Céline launched its own Instagram page.
