On Sunday, families and renowned designers gathered at Pier 45 for a fun Mother’s Day fete benefiting Born Free, a nonprofit orginisation that works to eradicate the transmission of HIV from mother to baby

For the special Mother's Day carnival, Born Free partnered with Shopbop.com and a variety of designers including Phoebe Philo, Sara Burton, Isabel Marant and others to create a capsule collection to raise funds for their cause.

The fashionable creatives worked with unique prints and motifs designed by African artist Wangechi Mutu for the exclusive merchandise which was offered at the event. Hosting the festivities at Hudson River Park in New York was Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Liya Kebede, Born Free CEO John Mergue, Mutu, and Clair Danes.

The CFDA also organised jewellery making sessions with famed accessory designers such as Alexis Bittar, Jennifer Fisher and Pamela Love.
