Bergdorf Goodman's Betty Halbreich and Lena Dunham collaborate for HBO

When old meets new

Bergdorf Goodman’s most famous employee, and personal shopper Betty Halbreich, will soon be entering the world of television as she teams up with 'Girls' creator Lena Dunham for a new show

An inspiration for many in the fashion industry, Betty Halbreich has been working in New York's most prestigious department store for 37 years now, dressing the likes of Lauren Bacall, Jane Pauley, Gwyneth Paltrow and more in her prestigious Bergdorf Goodman office.

Now, after wrapping up her new book, I'll Drink to That: A Life in Style, With a Twist, 87-year-old Halbreich has unveiled her next project, and it's something slightly more out of the ordinary for the famous shopper, a new HBO show with actress/writer Lena Dunham.

"Do you know what a thrill this is for an 86-year-old woman to be working with a 29-year-old? I'm not sure what we're going to do – probably laugh a lot and get nothing done," Halbreich said.

With no details on the television show yet, we are sure to expect some laughs, and fashion as the comical Dunham and Halbreich fuse their creative forces together.
