Australian Fashion Foundation announces 2015 winners
A new wave of talent from down under...
Held at Sydney's Lord Dudley Hotel in partnership with The Woolmark Company, the event saw a new group of young Australian designers receiving well deserved recognition.
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) fashion graduates Grace Butterworth and Alexander Oscar Kelvy were named the joint women's wear and men's wear recipients of $16,309 each. The fashion funds will go toward their travel and living costs for two, as well as a six month international fashion internships to be facilitated by the foundation – one in New York, one in Europe. With fellow RMIT graduate, Max Sanderson, named as the runner-up.
The event's judges included creative consultant Nancy Pilcher, designer Dion Lee, fashion consultant Brana Wolf, TOME's Ryan Lobo and The Woolmark Company's director of the Americas, Michelle Lee. The AUSFF has high hopes for its recipients as previous winners have secured placements and eventual jobs with Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, Thom Browne, and Proenza Schouler,
