First look: Quvenzhané Wallis for Armani Junior
One for the cool kids
Giorgio Armani is well documented for being on board with nurturing fresh young talent. However this time, it's a little different: The designer has tapped young actress Quvenzhané Wallis as the face of his Armani Junior campaign for AW14.
Photographer Stefano Azario used a canvas set to shoot full-length pictures of the actress, who received an Academy Award nomination for the 2012 film Beast of the Southern Wild. She is seen posing in one shot wearing a tuxedo with a puppy on her left shoulder
“Quvenzhané is so talented despite her young age. She is a child who has the natural ability to play many different roles,” Armani said of the casting. “Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits that I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior.”
Wallis is also set to play Orphan Annie in the latest screen adaptation of the musical Annie, also starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.
The campaign will hit international publications this summer.
