André Leon Talley to head up Zappos Couture
Surprising style news...
In a twist of fantastic news for Zappos online discounted footwear destination, André Leon Talley has been named as Artistic Director for the site.
The former Vogue editor-at-large and famous fashion personality has been tapped by Zappos to direct Zappos Couture, a new luxury segment of the shopping site, owned by the Amazon group.
According to Women's Wear Daily, Talley will oversee fashion shoots, videos and trend selection starting next year. As of now, you can pick up high-end brands like Armani, Balmain, Calvin Klein and Burberry on the site, but it seems Zappos has its eye on upping the ante when it comes to its high fashion offerings.
"We're really looking to become the destination in online luxury shopping," Jennifer Sidary, head of couture at Zappos Couture, told WWD. "For us, we still have a lot of brands we're looking to acquire for the site and we hope that with André's partnership it will help us develop relationships with these brands."
Zappos Couture is set to launch on January 22, 2104
