Alexander McQueen's biopic confirmed
Remembering a fashion genius
A movie on the life of the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen is expected to hit theatres next year. Andrew Haigh, a director of films including 45 Years and Weekend, is set to call the shots on the British designer's biopic, which will look at his rise in the industry, before it was cut short in February 2010.
McQueen began as a tailoring assistant on London's famed Saville Row before launching his eponymous fashion house in 1992. Four years later, he was appointed Creative Director for Givenchy. Now his meteoric rise and fall will be brought to life in a big screen production.
The movie will be based on Andrew Wilson's written work Alexander McQueen: Blood Beneath the Skin and filming will begin at the end of 2016.
