First look: Alexander McQueen Cruise 2016
Sarah Burton makes a departure from the subversive elements found in her recent Alexander McQueen collections and moves towards a more optimistic theme with Cruise 2016's blossoming collection of budding florals: "It's the very opposite of last season's darkness, and all about growth, freshness, springtime – and optimism."
Pretty sweet pea, lily of the valley, begonia and hollyhock floral patterns climb up dresses in various density on black and white bases. From full length gowns in sheer fabric to voluminous tiered gowns with bustier tops, peppered with green and white sweet pea. Burton gives the prettiness a light touch of attitude pairing a mid length dress with an army green peplum jacket and elsewhere mottled tweed and leather trims continue to feel contemporary.
