Milan Fashion Week: Sportmax Fall/Winter '16
Sportmax, presented a Moroccan-inspired muse this season. Set admist concrete pylons and metal cages, which framed each look, models walked to the beat of an Arabian tune. A monochromatic, military themed thread ran through the show but it was the creamy colours and tile-like shoe heels, which captured the essence of the collection.
Backstage before the show started Buro 24/7 Middle East spoke exclusively to Sportmax's Creative Director Grazia Malagoli, about the inspiration behind the Fall/Winter '16 show. "This season's collection is unexpected. Sportmax is usually about purity and essentiality but this season the inspiration comes from Morocco."
"The inspiration comes from the mosaics and the tiles of Morocco and the colours are really important because they make up Moroccan. The craftsmanship, the attitude are in the clothes."
Hair and makeup also took on a modern Moroccan note with kohl-rimmed eyes and tasseled hair. "Hair and makeup are pretty characteristic. The eyes are done with kohl and the whole look is 'done' but it looks a little unfinished."
