Paris Men's Fashion Week: Hermès Spring/Summer 15

Printed restoration

This week, the French fashion house acknowledges what it became famous for, as Véronique Nichanian presents a men’s collection filled with prints of shapes, scribbles and florals

For Hermès' latest men's collection, Nichanian reassured the fashion world that print was still alive  something that the luxury label's design team can create with its eyes closed.

A variety of modern and classic prints appeared on breezy trench coats and windbreakers to pull-on pants and t-shirts, exuding an easily wearable vibe but with rich and luxurious detailing.

With four different prints taking centre stage, Nichanian deemed it only right that each one had a name. The most dominant graphic which was a muted grey-and-white fractured print was called 'Fragments', while 'Flores' consisted of an abstract geometric composition. There was also the digitally inclined 'Glitch' and a re-visit to the archives with a darkened and modernised version of the iconic floral print 'Les Jardins d'Arménie'.

Fusing Hermes prints and pristine tailoring with new unexpected silhouettes, Nichanian has created one of the most desirable and aesthetically pleasing collections to date.

Stand out looks included 'Glitch' printed jogging-style chinos with a slick cotton shirt and sandals to a navy crocodile-skin varsity jacket with printed pants and a printed bandana worn tucked into a navy cardigan.
