Milan Fashion Week Menswear AW15: Prada
With an imposing and cluttered set – small corridors, low ceilings and walls clad in aluminium plates – Prada's Autumn/Winter 2015 scenery set a mysterious and edgy tone for this week's Milan showcase.
As the show notes read, "These shows are the perfect moment to analyse this subject more deeply to measure what the genders share, what they take from each other." Miuccia Prada mixed and match, using mainly black nylon for him, and her, unveiling a variety of lightweight coats, boxy shirts and patent leather boots that gave a nod to the early nineties (the Italian fashion house's heyday).
Experimenting with simple and tailored looks for both sexes, men's looks gave a nod to uniforms with collar shirts buttoned to the top and tab-less epaulets, while the women's looks consisted of a squadron of little black dresses, with bows as embellishment.
With a serious colour palette of mostly navy, black and grey, the lineup was youthful and perfectly tailored, with both sexes sporting briefcase-like bags and hefty footwear. And, as Miuccia's fascination with gender continues, we truly hope it continues to inspire the Prada spirit as it did for Autumn/Winter 2015.
