Dior Homme's Spring/Summer 15 art installation plans
Up on a pedestal
After the news of Louis Vuitton's special exhibit for the Miami Design District, Dior Homme has joined in by collaborating with Parisian design firm M/M to create installations for its Miami Design District boutique – and in its New York men's store.
The installations will serve as an extension of a photographic catalogue entitled Archistools, which was conceived by Dior Homme artistic director Kris Van Assche and photographed by Karim Sadli. They are expected to bring a new to life to the inspiration points for the season, which concerns several musical movements including new wave, new beat and electronic music. There is also a video release due, to support the initiative.
The photographs show models seated or standing on stools that can be adjusted in size and scale and "places the Spring/Summer 15 collection within a perspective of urbanity and modernity," Van Assche said this week.
The initiative will be in stores for one month from November 15 in Miami, and October 28 in New York, and a "refresh" of the installation in the Miami store will go live on December 2 to coordinate with the Art Basel Miami Beach being held December 4-7.
