The British Fashion Council has named its 10 menswear labels that will receive 'Newgen Men' funding and mentoring for the spring 2015 season

The 'Newgen Men' sponsorship program was launched in September 2009 by the British Fashion Council, and is sponsored by Topman. This season, Alex Mullins and Craig Green, who is already stocked at Dover Street Market. The pair have joined the list as newcomers, adding to current Newgen recipients — Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen, Common, Diego Vanassibara, Kit Neale, Lee Roach, Matthew Miller and Nasir Mazhar. Caroline Rush, chief executive of the BFC, called the new additions “two of London’s most exciting emerging names.”

It's an initiative that offers financial backing and showcasing opportunities at the London Collections: Men shows, along with business and mentoring support. The BFC has said that for spring 2015, it will collaborate with the law firm DLA Piper to provide the ten Newgen designers with legal and commercial advice, too.
