London Men’s Fashion Week: Moschino
"I am having the time of my life," Scott told reporters at the show, which is rather evident as the new Creative Director has been channeling the early years of Franco Moschino's puns, tongue-in-cheek jokes and unapologetically gaudy symbols, and putting a smile on the sometimes-serious front row face for a few seasons now.
The new collection of mainly menswear, and a few women's styles thrown in too, featured brightly-coloured soda can prints on summer jackets, swimming trunks and even suits, alongside the 90s smiley face patterns seen throughout the edit in the colours of national flags. Dollar signs also made an appearance via leather jackets and dark suits.
Scott translated the over-the-top monogram trend of bygone seasons by printing 'M' and scattering it on denim overalls and jeans – he even made a joke at the expense of the Moschino brand name itself: plastering the word 'Fauxschino' on tracksuits.
