The London Collections Men AW15: JW Anderson

Back to the future...

Sharing similar details to his women's Pre-Fall 15 collection, Jonathan Anderson rejected the notion of nostalgia for his label's men's AW15 lineup, mixing different style elements from decades past, from wide collars to flared trousers...

With a purple, bouncy runway made out of recycled car tyres and a hypnotic soundtrack by Michel Gaubert setting the scene, JW Andersons's clothes transported us to another era – unsure if it was towards the future or back to the past, it was definitely a beautiful trip.

'90s style bootcut pants with slits down the sides and 60s leather jackets, were seen across the collection, as Jonathan Anderson modernised looks with a slick nod to the times ahead, from the innovative fabrics he used to the models gelled-back hairdos.

Like characters from a video game, details were odd and lardge, like oversize collars and buttons shaped like flowers made from metalwork. Doses of his womenswear and even his work with Loewe could be glimpsed throughout the men's collection through the bold colours and unique embellishments.
