Paris Fashion Week Menswear SS16: Dior Homme
A forest of white roses set the scene for the lively and colourful Spring/Summer 16 collection for Dior Homme. The budding scenery felt very much like spring was in the air. The collection itself, a departure from the formalities of the previous season, saw a focus on sportswear and military design.
"There is an insistence on the 'Frenchness' of Dior, both the man and the house, and what that symbolises. At the same time, the collection could be seen as an exploration of sportswear; from its traditional roots to its contemporary incarnation." Said Kris Van Assche.
Details such as the orange interior of the MA1 bomber jacket to the khaki camouflage patterning and naval blues brought the strong military tones to the lineup whilst the more gentlemanly Argyll knits and hunting checks of traditional sporting garments continued the exploration of sportswear that Van Assche had aimed for.
