Ralph Lauren and Prince William open cancer research centre
Ralph Lauren, together with the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, opened the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital this week. "My personal connection with The Royal Marsden goes back to my friendship with Princess Diana when she was its President in 1996," said Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Ralph Lauren Corporation.
"It is a great honour and pleasure to move forward in this fight against breast cancer with her son, HRH The Duke of Cambridge who has taken over this role," he continued. "I am inspired by his dedication and together I hope our efforts can help save lives affected by this disease. Together we will make cancer research a reality by bringing it directly to patients around the world and the hope that we will find a cure in our lifetime."
The American fashion designer is also said to have donated seven million dollars to the centre.
