Girl of the week: Maartje Verhoef
The most used model of SS15
Of all the faces to emerge from Spring/Summer 15 as ones-to-watch, 17-year-old Netherlands native Maartje Verhoef walked a staggering 66 shows and perhaps earned herself the season's 'top-model' crown.
"I didn't expect to walk this many shows," she tells WWD, continuing, "So when I found out that I had done the most, I was first surprised, and then, of course, really happy. It goes by so quickly; you don't process it all at once."
"It was a huge change, I went from doing a show (or five) every day for the past month, to finally being able to rest and sleep well."

When asked about her finest moments from a busy season, she described closing at Hermès as, "a real highlight for me." Before explaining, "It was the last show of fashion week, so it felt like bringing the entire month to an end. It was a huge change afterward, as I went from doing a show (or five, ha!) every day for the past month, to finally being able to rest and sleep well that night."
The youngster also walked for Chanel's now-iconic SS15 protest display
She joins fellow Dutch faces such as Bette Franke, Daphne Groeneveld, Saskia de Brauw and Marte Mei van Haaster, with Verhoef having only just finished high school this summer, she also closed the shows for Victoria Beckham and Tommy Hilfiger and opened the prestigious Donna Karan show. As if that wasn't enough authentication onto the fashion scene, Victoria Beckham posted a photo of Maartje with the simple caption: "Love Maartje, xVB" to her 2.5 million Instagram followers... Perhaps just one indication that a new queen of the catwalk is born.
