Exclusive preview: Sergio Rossi Spring/Summer 16

Spring/Summer 16 sees Sergio Rossi take a step back in time to unveil a collection filled with references to Seventies style with a bohemian flair. Take a closer look at the new collection here with Buro 24/7 Middle East…

With Bianca Brandolini d'Adda on board in partnership with the Italian brand, collection and design director Angelo Ruggeri naturally found inspiration in the newly formed union and the essence of summer to design a collection for Sergio Rossi Spring/Summer 16 that evokes the feeling of a relaxed, nonchalant lifestyle.

Revisiting the Seventies, the classic clog is recast as plunging wedges where simple turned wood gives way to beautiful hand-wrapped marquetry. The unique design is created by using cork and a mixture of natural wood that produces a unique pattern on each pair of shoes.

The collection comes in a neutral and organic range of colours, keeping it well-grounded and down-to-earth. Details and embellishments appear in the form of crochet fabric, strings and embroidered thread which are used as a playful way of giving otherwise masculine lace-ups and chunky wedges playful and unique.
