Middle East exhibition: A Roger Vivier tribute
First stop, Dubai
Luxury shoemaker Roger Vivier will present a new exhibition in the Middle East next month. Titled Icons Connected, the travelling show will start its regional tour in Dubai, paying tribute to the man behind the eponymous label.
"Icons Connected is a very beautiful travelling exhibition to present our history through 10 chapters of our signatures," said Bruno Frisoni, Creative Director of Maison Roger Vivier. "He dressed the most beautiful women in the world, from Elizabeth Taylor and Marlene Dietrich to Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot. Since 2003, I am happy to follow his steps and with respect and a modern twist, to keep the brand sophisticated, playful, sensual and Parisian, with an international, young and contemporary edge," he continued.
While it was founded in the 1930s, the Vivier brand was revived in 2003 after it was bought by the Founder and Owner of the Tod's Group, Diego Della Valle. Since then, two people have been at the forefront of Roger Vivier's new design codes, Creative Director Bruno Frisoni and Brand Ambassador Ines de la Fressange.
The exhibition will showcase the iconic pieces, which reflect the true spirit of the maison as well as its contemporary direction. Some of the highlights of the exhibition include classic pieces that were worn by luminaries including Catherine Deneuve, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot and Queen Elizabeth's 1952 coronation shoes. Also on display will be images of modern stars that have been bedecked by the brand such as Cate Blanchett, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson.
The Roger Vivier-Icons Connected Exhibition will run from May 2-14, 2016 at The Dubai Mall.
