Celebrating the region's most talented designers, a new fashion event proves that the Middle East will be a new fashion powerhouse.

The Annex, Burj Khalifa played host to the first ever Dubai Collections this week. Designed as a platform to boost the profiles of regional designers, the two-day event featured runway shows, presentations, pop-up stores as well as talks. Running alongside the event was the Fashion Gallery, which showcased the evolution of each designer, providing an insight into the region's creative fashion minds.

Drawing varied inspiration from Paris to Dubai and from mountains to Cleopatra, designers from across the region – Endemage, Arwa Al Banawi, House of Nomad, Mochi, Taller Marmo, Dima Ayad, Madiyah Al Sharqi and Bouguessa – presented their Autumn/Winter '16 collections.

Apart from apparel, accessories were also a main highlight with designers including Bil Arabi, L'Afshar, Nathalie Trad, NS by Noof, Rula Galayini and Shamsa Alabbar showcasing their best designs, from bracelets to handbags to purses.

The Dubai Collections isn't set to be a standalone event, so stay connected to Buro 24/7 Middle East until next season.
