Creative changes have spilt onto 2017 as Chloé makes the first big announcement of the year...

French fashion label Chloé looks set to have a new Creative Director: Natacha Ramsay-Levi, the senior designer from Louis Vuitton. As Nicolas Ghesquiere's deputy, Ramsay-Levi is well poised to take over from Chloé's current Creative Director, Clare Waight Keller, and bring the maison towards a new fashion direction.

While scepticism remains over the appointment – Ramsay-Levi's bold contemporary designs seem in conflict with Chloé's classic aesthetics – insiders have looked to successes by Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent and Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga and drew parallels, saying that a new artistic vision could prove the impetus for sustainable future growth. Though the maison has not officially announced when Ramsay-Levi would begin her work, Keller's contract is believed to end this March. Watch this space.
