Yves Saint Laurent: 1283 drawings from 81 Haute Couture collections
A set of the famed designers couture drawings
Carefully preserved by the foundation that keeps the history of the Yves Saint Laurent fashion house alive, the designer's fashion drawings were an integral part of his 40 years in the creative industry, and are now available to purchase for €1,700 from The Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent's website.
The beautiful book set features drawings that Saint Laurent drew during his iconic career, from the Mondrian dress in 1965 and the Collection 40 in 1971, to the pieces that paid homage to Vincent van Gogh in 1988. Inside L’Oeuvre Integral each look is presented by a pencil sketch accompanied by the fabric sample in which it was made.
Each of the sections in the new tome reveal the name of the workshop where it was made, the model who wore it, and more. There are more than 15,000 pieces of clothing that are identified in the four volumes of this book, each of which revolutionised and paved the way for future fashion.
