Buro 24/7 Middle East explores the vintage concession introduced by luxury vintage e-boutique Atelier-Mayer.com at Harvey Nichols’ flagship store in Knightsbridge

Located at the ground floor of the elite department store, this concession is a first for such a collaboration between a vintage boutique and one of the most visited department stores in the world.

Vintage became fashionable again in the late 90s, after the likes of Kate Moss started wearing gowns of days passed to parties and movie premieres. After seeing a gap in the market for an edited shop that carries the best of the 60s and 70s, founder Carmen Haid, travelled the world to collect pieces to showcase in both her online boutique and by-appointment showroom.

Carmen's love for vintage originated from her grandmother Klaudia, a couturier that founded the original Atelier Mayer in 1927 in Vienna. Haid grew up spending summers at her atelier, attending fittings and fashion shows. Carmen or 'Madame Mayer' as she likes to be called, handpicks every piece of her stock - money is not her sole motivation, she prides herself on seeing the satisfaction in the eyes of her clients.

Expect to find timeless pieces that can be worn with current trends at the new concession, which will be updated regularly with pieces by brands including YSL, Chanel, and Hermès located at Harvey Nichols, London.
