Paris Fashion Week: Miu Miu Spring/Summer 15

Miuccia's mix-and-match

As one of the closing shows of Paris Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada knew she had to put out all the retro stops for Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 15 show – and that's exactly what she did…

As the first few models stepped foot onto the marble flooring, it was clear that Mrs. Prada was going to take us back to the retro days of the 50s and 60s – doing so with the use of ruffles, collars, and pencil skirts that cinched at the waist.

Colour blocking played a large role in the lineup as a black frilly crop top was paired with a red pencil skirt and thick waist belt, and a long red leather trench coat was seen with an electric blue leather pencil skirt...also squeezed at the waist. As much as the silhouettes were prim and proper, Miuccia emphasised the models curves by showing just the right amount of torso and leg for every look.

Playing a game of mix-and-match the Italian designer partnered a plaid skirt with a bubblegum pink coat and ruffled lingerie-style top while another model donned a cropped tweed vest with a row of black manipulated fabric paired with high-waisted silk trousers that featured a delicate floral print. Other standout pieces included a trio of bright plaid jackets which had panels of brown suede running down the front – keeping that cool youthful vibe that Miu Miu always has with the sleeves scrunched up and killer black shades on.
