As John Lewis, Burberry and Topshop launched their Christmas campaigns this week, Harrods is now following in their footsteps in the lead up to the holiday season

Today, the iconic luxury department store has revealed its festive window displays for 2014, and they feature a host of British and international luxury labels, as well as limited-edition fashion, beauty, and home pieces.

The Qatar Holdings-owned store has been transformed into 'The Land of Make Believe', being described as "a contemporary take on tradition set against a Scandinavian landscape of silver birch trees, ice-blue skies and snowdrifts". The whimsical windows will also feature display designs created by famous designers such as Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson and Bottega Veneta.

Deborah Bee, Director of Creative Marketing at Harrods, said, "Christmas at Harrods is an enchanting time for everyone. 'The Land of Make Believe' brings the festive magic of the store to life, encouraging Londoners to enjoy Harrods as the ultimate Christmas destination; it's perfect for the whole family."

In addition to the magical windows, Harrods will also celebrate the festive season with its first-ever animated film. Featuring the same title as the windows 'The Land of Make Believe', the stop-motion film will tell a version of the story behind the iconic Christmas lights that cover the department store every year.
