Ralph Lauren's giant Ricky bag continues its world tour in Paris
Unveiled at the Palais Galliera
Designed in 2005 in honour of his wife, today Ralph Lauren's giant 'Ricky' bag has travelled to New York, Tokyo and now Paris on its world tour. The unique handbag, along with the supple leather version – the 'Soft Ricky', is one of the American label's most iconic pieces.
To celebrate the success of the symbolic accessory, Ralph Lauren began a 'Ricky bag world tour' last September, installing a massive version in some of the world's biggest continents, from the US to Asia.
The bag took nearly a month to create, and measures 1.8m high and 1.5m wide. In Paris, it has already taken a prime spot in Galeries Lafayette and was featured in the windows of the St Germain-des-Prés, Ralph Lauren's flagship, during April.
On Tuesday, the giant Ricky was installed for an exclusive party a Palais Galliera — an event organised to mark the launch of the Mini Ricky, Ralph Lauren's new miniature it-bag. Continuing on its impressive world tour the Giant Ricky will now travel to London, Miami and the Middle-East.
