Hermès’ new silk collection welcomes a new innovation

There’s no denying that the Hermès silk scarf is a wearable work of art – an investment that is both iconic and embedded with timeless elegance. Quite possibly the simplest of accessories, in our dictionary, the simplicity of the Hermès silk scarf means brilliance, especially when it comes to the French luxury brand.

As it marked the height of Parisian fashion in the 30s (the colourful patterns drew the attention of the city’s high society), the silk scarves became the must-have fashion accessory – an investment of craftsmanship, style and joie de vivre.

With every silk collection, the pieces echo remarkable strength and incredible versatility, and for the Spring/Summer ’20 season, it’s no different.

Each Hermès scarf tells a story and carries an allure that goes beyond celebrity. For the new season, the collection is brimming with bright hues and cosmic-like patterns and we’re obsessed.

“At Hermès, if invention is a matter of ideas, innovation derives from gesture. Looking more closely (with a magnifying glass) or from a great distance (through the telescope of history), we quickly realise that innovation is above all a matter of research, experimentation, movement, travel, encounters and, therefore, of chance, of lucky accidents, of productive mistakes,” says Pierre-Alexis Dumas, the artistic force driving the Hermès universe.

“Our tradition is to constantly create!” he continued and as the maison’s tradition is to continuously create, the new Spring/Summer ’20 collection introduces a new dimension with links to the maison’s theme of the year, Innovation in the Making

This also marks the first time Hermès has developed a double face scarf.

The new chapter of the Hermès silk collection features major technical innovations where each side of the scarf shows a different version of the same design.

Marking a technical breakthrough in the maison’s artisanship, the French-made scarves can be enjoyed by connoisseurs of excellence.
