First look: ill.i optics by Will.i.am
The illest ops
Real name William Adams Junior, the music, wearble tech – and now – luxury eyewear mogul funded ill.i Optics entirely by himself and co-designed the unique frames with Australian designer friend George Gorrow.
The project was borne out of his personal obsession with eyewear: "I buy a lot of glasses; the new stuff is Linda Farrow and Dita, the old stuff is Porsche, Carrera, Persol, Gazelle. But lately I've been wearing ill.i because it's exactly what I've been looking for," Adams told WWD.
Starting at $300 per pair, the range will launch with select retailers worldwide on September 16. The collection features futuristic frames, an ultra feminine cat-eye design, a retro "nerdy" style, utility-inspired goggle-glasses, and classic round tortoise styles.
