Donald Drawbertson and Kara Ross toast their handbag collaboration in New York
With Will.i.am and Tory Burch in tow
Singer, producer and recent wearable tech pioneer Will.i.am called the meeting of creative minds between Kara Ross and Buro 24/7 favourite Donald Drawbertson "magnificent" yesterday in Manhattan, as the trio came together to toast the custom painted bags by the artist.
The former also managed a moment to showcase his 'i.am.PULS' watch, done in a customised diamond pave cage setting (designed by Ross), adding that he was excited to be at the private dinner celebrating the collaboration.

Held at the home of the jeweller and her developer husband Steve Ross – an 80th floor penthouse – there was also longtime friend of the couple Tory Burch and of course, Robertson. After cocktails in the private residence guests moved down to the 51st floor for a seated dinner which featured more of Robertsons' handiwork: place cards and paper bag floral arrangements adorned in brightly duct tape – a signature of the artist, who said the process of the event took on the guise of a "full on craft project at that fancy place upstairs. We set the bags to dry on the balcony. That was the best thing about it," he quipped.

The one-of-a-kind bags are available in three varieties – waxed canvas, leather and python – ranging in from $395 up to $3000.
Each resembles a grocery bag, which Robertson later explained were inspired by Whole Food.
