Arts and crafts season

Taking its style cues from Vladimir Nabokov’s 'Lolita' to the art and architecture of the American Southwest, Christian Louboutin’s SS15 collection unites a variety of references, colours, and textures with the first full glimpse of of the new lineup...

This month, the French designer has unveiled new shoe and handbag styles, joining old favourites with updated colours, materials, and details providing a new energy to the Christian Louboutin accessories mix.

The collection highlights the brand's commitment to technical innovation, starting with the new Mirage heel – a wavy stiletto, which appears in several designs, including the Dalida, the Deepik, and the Vagachina. Another standout style is the Tibur, an update of the iconic So Kate, which features a cutaway toe that flashes a hint of skin, unlike the traditional peep-toe design.

And for those who aren't fans of heels, Mr. Louboutin borrowed some designs from the men's department with the sleek Platt Dance Flat, the cork-soled Liegina, the embroidered Nananas slipper, and a new black-and-white Zazou brogue.

After first unveiling his 'Water In Love' Spring/Summer 15 lookbook on Buro 24/7 Middle East last week, this Christian Louboutin collection showcases a fusion of sporty aesthetics, rock 'n' roll vibes, aquatic moods and bold cultural craftsmanship.
