Weighing 13.22 carats, the record-breaking stone is leading an upcoming Christie’s auction titled 'Magnificent Jewels'

Taking place in Geneva on May 14 at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues. Christie's Geneva is selling 'The Blue' diamond, estimated to fetch approximately $21,000,000 – 25,000,000 as the leading gem of a 250-lot sale. The 'Magnificent Jewels' auction as a whole is thought to be on course to reach a total in the region of $80 million.

Two days prior to the event, Christie's will present a feast of 440 watches throughout the centuries of watch making. Over 350 years of development will be demonstrated with an array of vintage and contemporary pieces, alongside two important private collections proving the auction house's unquestionable passion for the field.

The sale will also feature many important coloured and colourless diamonds such as 'The Ocean Dream', at 5.50 carats the largest fancy vivid blue-green diamond in the world to come to auction. The combination of its size, natural origin, hue, and saturated colour makes it an extremely unusual occurrence.
