Which celebrity had the most liked Instagram post about the royal wedding?

We'll tell you
The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was one of the biggest events of the year. Just ask Instagram...

David Beckham was a hit at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Sporting the first designs by Kim Jones for Dior Homme, the famous football star shook the hands of the police officer stationed outside the church and took a picture with Manchester bombing survivor Amelia Thompson before heading inside. And, as it turns out, he also nabbed the number one most liked Instagram post from the wedding.

Beckham shared a photo of the bride and groom (as well as two photos of a younger Harry), with the caption, “What a proud day for our country today! Watching Harry as happy as he was makes us all proud of the man and person he has always been… what a day!” It raked in over 3.6 million likes since it was posted.

Interestingly in the rest of the top five, only one other post was from the actual wedding. Ellen DeGeneres came in second place, whilst third and fourth places went to Millie Bobby Brown and Adele respectively. Fifth place was taken by Troian Bellisario, the wife of Patrick J Adams who played Meghan’s on-screen husband Mike in Suits. She wrote, “Weddings are a joyous occasion. But today was just off the charts amazing. Congratulations Meghan and Harry. I am so grateful I got to witness your love today. There are many happy years to come.”

The royal wedding has dominated social feeds since Saturday, especially following the release of three of the official photographs from the day last night.

Instagram also revealed that Givenchy was the buzziest brand name on the platform that day — unsurprising given that Clare Waight Keller was the designer behind Meghan’s wedding dress. It was followed by Beckham, the Royal Family’s official account, Stella McCartney (who designed Meghan’s evening reception gown) and Kensington Palace’s official account.

Instagram revealed that more than 60 million users across the globe shared, liked or commented on one million photos relating to the wedding on Saturday. There were also 600,000 Instagram Stories on the day.

We suspect we haven’t seen the end of the posts just yet.
