Yesterday, the UAE approved its new 2015 budget, announcing that almost half of 2015's $13.36 billion will be spent on social sectors such as health, education and social services

Projecting no deficit and an increased income, the Gulf nation continues its strong rebound from years of financial crisis, as the Council of Ministers approved the 2015 budget and an increase of 6.5 percent from 2014.

Vice-President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the bulk of the budget would be used "to provide prosperity, security and a decent life for citizens at all levels." The Dubai ruler also added that "investing in and meeting the needs of its citizens are the cornerstones of the UAE government policies."

He also stated that $5.45bn was allocated for government affairs and upgraded services.
