The Queen has confirmed the Cambridges and the Sussexes are splitting their households
Issued an official memo overnight
For months, it has been rumoured that the Cambridges and Sussexes would be heading their separate ways in their households this year and now the Queen has officially confirmed the news.
In an official memo, the Queen said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (who is now on maternity leave) will make their own household separate to Prince William and Kate Middleton in the coming months. Moving forward, the Sussexes office will be based out of Buckingham Palace where Harry currently has his own office already.
The note read, "The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year. The Household, which will be created with the support of the Queen and the Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring." It added that the household will be formed to "ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess' work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage."
The pair will also get a new communications team, headed up by Sara Latham who previously served as a senior advisor on Hilary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.
