The Duke and Duchess of Sussex christened their baby boy and the images are just adorable

It was a family affair...
We've seen Prince Harry, Meghan and Archie only once before but now, the trio are finally back together and we can't handle the cuteness...

Earlier today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex held an intimate gathering in Windsor for a very special occasion: the parents have officially christened their baby boy, Archie.

It was a very private baptism (today also marks Archie’s two-month-birthday), and photos have just been released from the closed event, and the images are so adorably cute — we just can’t deal.

Two pictures taken by fashion photographer Chris Allerton were issued and shared on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Instagram page, and they both looked so happy and proud.

The first image is a family photo inside the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle and it features the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (the latter is beautifully dressed in a cream Dior dress and matching hat), sitting with their child alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge (who is giving us major Blair Waldorf vibes with her Stella McCartney dress and fuchsia headband).

The royal couple were also joined by several family members at the celebration, including the Duke of Cambridge, Prince Charles, Meghan’s mother Doria, and Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, all of whom are featured in the family photos.

The second image is a simple black and white photo, taken in the Rose Garden at the castle.

This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie. Their son, Archie, was baptised wearing the handmade replica of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years. The original Royal Christening Robe, made of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 and first worn by her eldest daughter. It was subsequently worn for generations of Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren until 2004, when The Queen commissioned this handmade replica, in order for the fragile historic outfit to be preserved, and for the tradition to continue. As to what baby Archie wore to his baptism, similar to his royal relatives before him, the baby boy wore the Honiton christening gown during the ceremony, a replica of the dress that Queen Victoria commissioned for her first-born child, her daughter Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa.

Whilst the couple were open to sharing new family portraits of the ceremony, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to keep the details of Archie’s godparents private.
