Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's life accomplishments celebrated
Praising the UAE’s Mother of the Nation
Guests were welcomed by an artwork shaped in the design of a palm tree which featured 80 significant achievements by Sheikha Fatima. Designed by Emirati jeweller and sculptor Azza Al Qubaisi, the stainless steel piece took one month to create.
Sheikha Fatima's accomplishments displayed on the artwork included her establishment of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in 2003, as well as her position of chairwoman of the General Women's Union.
"We like through this event to honour the mother of everyone – who has supported the Emirati woman's path and has served as a role model," said Fatima Al Jaber, chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Business Women Council.
An array of prominent businesswomen present at the event acknowledged and showed gratitude to Sheikha Fatima for being a role model. Emirati fashion designer Mona Al Mansouri credited her success to Sheikha Fatima. "We have overtaken ourselves with accomplishments [like that] of a country that is 100 years old," revealed Ms Al Mansouri. "The Emirati woman has reached all statuses and has raced the age of the country with her accomplishments, all thanks to Sheikha Fatima's support."
