Political power: Amal Clooney gets a new job in UK government, and Angelina Jolie hints she'll run for President
Who run the world?
We've long known that Amal Clooney and Angelina Jolie were two powerhouse women, and the latest news from both overnight has confirmed that further.
Amal Clooney has been given a new job with the UK government, as a Special Envoy to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, specifically the Special Envoy on Media Freedom. In the role, Clooney will act on behalf of the country's journalistic freedoms, to protect them from outdated laws. According to the BBC, she will "use her expertise to chair a panel comprising the world's best legal minds to develop and promote legal mechanisms to prevent and reverse media abuses," says Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie has suggested that she is considering running for office. Speaking to People, the actress-turned-United Nations High Commission special envoy, answered, "Never say never," when asked if she would consider running for President. She added, "[But] right now I am looking to others for leadership."
Well we'd certainly feel much better with these two running the world.
