Germany's MKG museum hosting new 'Drawing Fashion' exhibit
Masterpieces of a century
From now until May 3, 2015, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MKG) will be showing Drawing Fashion, a myriad of illustrations collected by the renowned gallery owner and art collector Joëlle Chariau, for over 28 years.
More than 200 drawings will be on display celebrating the creations of some of the biggest names in haute-couture, from Paul Poiret and Coco Chanel to Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons.
Chariau showcases the development in seven sections, illustrating each with a selection of exemplary work by different artists.
